With the declaration of a national emergency as a result COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have put in place heightened infection control practices and protocols. Maintaining the health, wellness, and safety of our residents is our number one priority.
Effective March 16, Mennonite Village began restricting visitation to the care areas on our campus. This includes Mennonite Home, Quail Run Assisted Living, Lydia’s House, and Mary’s Place. Based on federal guidance, no visitor will be permitted into these areas except for certain compassionate care situations, such as an end-of-life situation. In those cases, only two visitors are permitted for that resident. Visitors are still allowed into Independent Living homes in the Village. However, the Ashwood Court Restaurant dining room is closed.
Effective March 19, 2020, no new admissions will be taken into Mennonite Home.
Effective March 22, 2020, no new admissions will be taken into Quail Run Assisted Living.
The news about the spread of this new disease is concerning for us all. We understand that communication with loved ones is incredibly important and encourage you to communicate with them in other ways such as the telephone, video chat, email, or social media.
In addition to restricting visitation, we are also focused on infection control best practices with our staff and residents. Staff have been trained on the symptoms of the coronavirus (COVID-19), CDC recommended infection prevention techniques, and we have clear protocols for staff to stay home and not come to work if they are ill or symptomatic. In addition, all staff and vendors are screened when entering one of our buildings.
We continue to monitor information and guidance from the Oregon Health Authority and the CDC. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but believe it is in the best interest of residents. We will continue to keep you informed. Continue to visit this website or call our emergency notification line at 541-704-1064, for regular updates.
