Mary’s Place at Mennonite Village is a non-profit, adult foster care home for men and women with early stages of memory loss who need minimal assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Most people diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s and related dementia prefer to remain in their own homes as long as possible. However, sometimes it becomes too difficult to do the everyday tasks of life, even with the help of others. Mary’s Place Adult Foster Care offers the benefits of specialized care and services in a home setting.
Mary’s Place is a Class II Foster Care Home designed and licensed specifically for the care of persons with memory loss. It’s a spacious, five-bedroom home with two bathrooms, a whirlpool bath, a full kitchen, a large living and dining area, a game/crafts room, and an office for around-the-clock staff. It also has a beautifully landscaped yard with a covered patio, a barbecue grill, and raised beds for vegetable and flower gardening.Mary’s Place is staffed with a specially-trained resident manager and caregivers who share a knack for interacting with those with memory loss. A full-time registered nurse is also available to provide medical care, as needed.
Each resident has a private bedroom and 24-hour access to common areas in which they can socialize and participate in housekeeping, cooking, baking, gardening, and other activities and outings as much as they wish.
