Nursing & Rehabilitation

Mennonite Home was founded in 1947 by local congregations to provide care to the elderly. From the beginning, this home was envisioned as a place where elders could live comfortably and receive peaceful, loving care. Today, it remains the cornerstone of Mennonite Village Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Mennonite Home provides 24-hour, post-op, short-term, and long-term services and support, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, end of life care, and ongoing, 24-hour care for residents who can benefit from a fully-supported environment.

Mennonite Home is known for extraordinary service and compassion and our culture of individualized, resident-directed care. Every effort is made to preserve and enhance our residents' capabilities. Personalized care plans are developed to help each resident achieve and maintain his or her level of self-care and independence.

Our commitment as a Christ-centered community is to provide life-enriching services and fun to fulfill the spiritual, physical, and emotional dimensions of those we serve. A wide range of programs are offered to meet individual interests, including: outdoor gardening and scenic walks; cooking and baking; art and music; pet therapy; and brain fitness activities. On Sundays, residents can attend Christian ecumenical services held in our chapel. (See Chaplaincy Services.)

Rehabilitation services are available for persons transitioning from a hospital stay to their home. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists, licensed nurses, and special Life Enrichment staff members work with each patient's physician to meet that patient's medical needs. Referrals for home health services and equipment can be made conveniently by our social services coordinators.

Our staff also includes registered nurses, certified nurse assistants, caregivers, chaplains, a dietician, a pharmacist, and recreational professionals. Staff members are carefully selected and given ongoing education and support throughout their careers. The proof is in our reputation and resident satisfaction.

"I just wanted to take the time to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved in my care while I was a patient at the Home. The loving, thoughtful, and attentive care I received certainly helped speed my recovery and allowed me to return home quickly. I am very appreciative to everyone for all they did."
